NASHVILLE, Tenn. –
Well-known actor and stand-up comedian Kevin Hart made history on April 19 at
the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville when his “What Now?” Tour during the
"Wild West Comedy Festival" sold out two back-to-back shows.
Hart's
impressive career received even more praise after his record-breaking
performance on Sunday evening. The comedian performed his first show at 7 p.m.,
then followed it up with a second show at 10 p.m. Both of the shows were packed
with enthusiastic fans.
"Half way through the show it began to hurt from
laughing so much," said Jacqueline Marinelli, a long-time fan of the comedian's stand-up performances. "I can honestly say this is my favorite show I've seen by
Kevin Hart so far."
"That was probably the hardest I have laughed in forever," said Middle Tennessee State University student Morgan Sager. "Everything was great. All of the openers were funny and of course Kevin Heart
made me laugh at everything he said."
Hart
performed original dialog that had never been released to the general public.
Security officials were on edge as they attempted to prevent fans from using
cell phones and video cameras to record segments from the act. This was
apparent, as more than 15 people were escorted out of the building in just the
second show alone.
The
material itself was understandably protected, as the entire audience was
bursting with laughter throughout the entire performance.
This
marked the sixth year that Hart has performed in Nashville and the second
annual "Wild West Comedy Festival". The festival took place April
14-19 at a number of different venues, including TPAC and Zanies. Other acts
included Doug Benson and Hannibal Burress.
Hart topped the list at the
festival with performances that had the people of Nashville wiping tears of
laughter from their eyes. The festival, along with Hart's "killer
finale", gave Middle Tennessee a week filled with well-deserved laughter
and fun.
Hart
has starred in a number of movies, including “Ride Along” and “Get Hard”. He is
also making history with his tour by traveling to 50 cities in the United
States and Canada. This makes the tour the largest stand-up comedian tour that
has ever been done, establishing his name as one of the most successful
comedians of all time.
Hart’s
tour will keep him preoccupied for the time being, but be on the lookout for
new releases including, “Ride Along 2”
and others from this thriving comedian.
